Mr. Taiwo Adebiyi would not forget Thursday 10th August, 2017 in a hurry. It was a day his boss of 14 years, Hon. Olusegun Olaleye, rewarded his loyalty.
Unknown to him, Radical, as the lawmaker is popularly known, had planned to use the occasion of his constituency empowerment ceremony to present the gift.
That morning, the lawmaker had asked Adebiyi to go park the car along with other empowerment materials.
He broke down in tears when his name was announced as the beneficiary.
Speaking on why he extended the gesture, the former NANS and UI Students’ Union president said that “for the 14 years he has been with me, he has never complained despite the way way we work. He has always been there for me. I am making statement with this; we should not forget those who have stood by us. The time they invested should be rewarded apart
from the salary we give them,” he explained.
Thanking his boss, a tearful Adebiyi said he never knew he would be so rewarded, adding that “for the years I have spent with him, even when we were in Abuja, he never allow me to suffer. He has always assisted me.”
