The Oyo State House of Assembly member representing Oluyole State Constituency, Hon. Waheed Akintayo, popularly known as Ilumoka Presenter, has extended his community development interventions to several communities in Oluyole Local Government Area through the donation of solar-powered streetlights, building materials and financial support.
The interventions include the donation of 20 additional solar-powered streetlights to Soka Youth General in Ward 5, which were to complement the already installed solar street lights in the under bridge axis of the area
The lawmaker also presented building materials to support the development of a maternity centre at Boluwaji Akinfenwa Atagba in Ward 7.
At Boluwaji Akinfenwa Atagba, Akintayo donated 200 blocks and 10 bags of cement to support the construction of the maternity centre, an initiative aimed at improving access to maternal healthcare within the community.
Hon Akintayo also fulfilled his financial commitments to Ajo Community and Aba Alfa, both in Ward 7, by releasing ₦500,000 and ₦250,000 respectively, in line with his earlier promises to the communities.
In another intervention, Akintayo donated ₦200,000 to the Lafiaji Muslim Community in Ayegun Oleyo, Ibadan, to support its community needs.
According to the APM assembly candidate for Oluyole Constituency, the additional solar-powered streetlights donated to Soka Youth General Ward 5 are expected to improve illumination in the area, enhance visibility at night and contribute to residents’ sense of safety.
He said the donation of blocks and cement to the maternity centre project underscores the importance of community participation and support in expanding access to essential healthcare services.
“The financial assistance to Ajo Community, Aba Alfa and Lafiaji Muslim Community also reflects the lawmaker’s response to requests and commitments made to different groups within his constituency.
Akintayo’s latest interventions cut across public lighting, healthcare infrastructure and community support, addressing needs identified by residents in different parts of Oluyole State Constituency.
The initiatives add to his constituency-level efforts to support local development and improve the welfare of residents through targeted interventions.
