Members of a non-governmental organisation, Oyo-Ile Investors’ Forum, on Thursday met in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital to review the activities of the forum in-line with the target set.
The forum encompasses about 100 investors from different fields across the world coming together with the sole aim of investing and making Oyo state a better state.
The Chairman and Convener of the Forum, Engineer Yinka Owodunni, while speaking, thanked the Oyo state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde for providing enabling environment for investors.
Owodunni said that the first meeting of the forum was held in May 2019, at the advent of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.
He lamented that the Covid-19 pandemic slowed down the forum from meeting the target coupled with the travel restrictions which prevented members in the diaspora to travel down to the state.
He however, said that the forum has implemented different projects of about 70 – 100 billion naira from the 5 billion dollars projects targeted in the state.
He also invited investors to come to the state adding that it will be a win win for both the government and the investors.
While speaking, Governor Seyi Makinde said the state government has made giant and tremendous progress in the areas of education, health, security and expansion of the state’s economy in its bid towards socio-economic development of Oyo state in the last two years.
The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Prof Daud Sangodoyin added that the progress which has been made in these area cannot be divorced from the aggressive iinfrastructural development of the administration.
He said: “Embedded in the strides towards actualization of the above stated agenda are many Infrastructural development. A good number of infrastructural development have already been carried out within the past two years while many are still underway.
“The present Administration has made glant and tremendous progress in the areas of education, health, security and expansion of the state’s economy in its bid towards socio-economic development of Oyo State in the last two years. The progress which has been made in these areas cannot be divorced from the aggressive infrastructural development of the administration of His Excellency.”
Dignitaries present at the event were Prof Daud Sangodoyin, Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Hon Rahaman AbdulRaheem, Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Mr Seyi Adeleye, SA to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Reverend Idowu Ogedengbe, Executive Assistant to the Governor on Administration and General Service, Mr Jide Boladuro, Chairman, Oyo Gaming Board, Mr Kunle Odusina representing Hon Segun Ogunwuyi, Chairman, OYSIIPA.
Other were Mrs Bolanle Sarunmi Aliyu, SSA to the Governor on Diaspora, Dr Funmi Salawu, SA to the Governor on Health, Mr Kazeem Bolarinwa, SA to the Governor on Youth and Sports.
