Oyo State governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde, was on Monday, at the residence of Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (SOLAN), to appreciate the support rendered by the former Oyo South Senator, which culminated in his victory at the 9 March, 2019 governorship poll.
Makinde, who was accompanied by several political figures which included Alh. Nureni Akanbi, Senator Hosea Agboola, and Senator-elect, Oyo South, Dr. Kola Balogun, was full of praises for Lanlehin for demonstrating uncommon passion to the development of Oyo State, which led to his agreement to the coalition which brought him in.
Also on the governor-elect’s entourage was Chief Kunmi Mustapha, Oyo State PDP Chairman, Dr Muraina Ajibola, Rep Member-elect, Ibarapa North/Central, Hon Abass Agboworin, Rep Member-elect, Ibadan Northeast/Southeast and Engr Rauf Olaniyan, Deputy gov-elect.
Others on the entourage included, Hon Stanley Olajide, Rep Member-elect, Ibadan Northwest/Southwest, Yeyeluwa Bose Adedibu, and Engr Femi Babalola Jogor.
Lanlehin, who thanked God for Makinde’s victory, reiterated his firm belief in his capacity to deliver democratic dividends to the people of Oyo State.
With Lanlehin to receive Makinde and his team was Hon Wale Adegoke, Arch Basiru Lawal, Hon Ladi Oluokun, Hon Omotayo Oyetunji, Hon Lanre Agoro, Asiwaju Yemi Aderibigbe, Hon Olusegun Olaleye (Radical), Hon Gaphar Ojetola, and many others.
In lanlehin’s words; “yesterday (Sunday), was one of the happiest days of my life, because the one who thought he was greater than God was shown by that God, that only God was more powerful.”
Lanlehin, who solicited prayers for the governor-elect, called on the people of Oyo State to give him the needed support to transform Oyo State.
Said he, “I know Makinde as a long distance runner, whose zeal and commitment is not in doubt. Having been outside before, he knows what it feels to be outside. I assure you Makinde will do well for Oyo State. Let’s support him.”
I’m delighted we have chased out constituted authority. Your success is my success, and I have total confidence in your ability to deliver,” he concluded
Makinde responding, said, “I’ve come to appreciate my egbon. We remember that with the 2015 experience, we couldn’t go all alone, hence the coalition.
When they won in 2015, they became nonchalant, and the suffering our people had was unbearable.
That really was the reason our people voted massively against them,” Makinde said.
