The 2023 Week of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria, FOMWAN, Oyo State chapter commences on Thursday, 1st June, 2023.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “Achieving self-sustainance and improved family (For sustainable socioeconomic development) : The role of every individual.”
The week-long activities begins on Thursday, with a Press Conference which will be addressed by the Oyo State FOMWAN Amirah, Alhaja (Dr) B.B Oloso while members of the Association in all the LGAs in the State will on the same day pay visits to the sick, old, as well as long-gone members in their respective Councils.
A statement issued by the State Amirah said that Day 2 of the celebration will feature special Jumm’ah service in all the LGAs of the State.
According to the statement, a training workshop on small scale businesses for adults and youths will come up on Saturday (Day 3) of the program.
“A symposium on the theme of the celebration holds on Day 4 which is Sunday while Day 5 will be for training of adults and youths in the adopted communities in small businesses for the socio economic sustainability of families.
“This is aimed at rekindling good relationship with the adopted communities. On the 6th day of the week tagged “Humanitarian Day” which is on Tuesday, members of Oyo State FOMWAN and the LGAs are to present gift items to their adopted schools and hospitals.”
Alhaja (Dr) B.B Oloso added that the celebration of 2023 FOMWAN Week in Oyo State will be rounded off on Day7 (Wednesday) with special prayers for the Nation, State, the Association, all members and their families.
Speaking on the theme of the 2023 Week, the Amirah said family well-being was important as family remains one of the most important units of the society.
” The focus of this year’s theme “Lasting Family Wellbeing” is to remind everyone of their roles in bringing about improvement in the wellbeing of our families especially in achieving economic and financial stability. This is because a safe, healthy and financially secure family will likely reach and achieve its goals than an unstable family.” Alhaja (Dr) B.B Oloso said
