The First Lady of Oyo state, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde, on Sunday, hosted children across the 33 local government areas of the state to a Christmas party.

The party which was held at the Agodi Gardens, Ibadan, was fun filled with different games and gift items for the children.

Mrs Makinde, while speaking, encouraged the children to show love with their actions to their parents, siblings and people around them.

She urged parents and guardians to also show love to those around them and the less privileged.

She added that the Christmas season is a time for people to be faithful to God for the gift of life and for everything.

Her words: “It’s good to be back here again this year to celebrate Christmas with our beloved children who came from all over the state.

“Christmas is a season that comes with a message of love, joy and gratitude. Dear children, I wish to encourage you to imbibe in this year’s message of love that comes with Christmas.

“The birth of Christ is the highest example of Christ’s love to us. You may not have anything as children to give, material things, I meant to give to your parents or friends or people you love. But I want you to show love by your actions to your parents, siblings and people around you.

“This message also goes to the parents and guardians, let us show love to those around us and the less privileged as well. Christ’s birth brought joy to the world and that’s why we are singing the famous song ‘joy to the world’, the Carol song doing the Christmas.

“So let our earth be filled with joy this Christmas season because when Christ came into the world, everyone around him, including his parents, the shepherd and the three wise men were all filled with joy.
