As 2019 general election approaches, the Oyo State governorship candidate of the Democratic People’s Party (DPP), Omobosola Owolabi Golohor, has unveiled strategies to tackle unemployment and end poverty in the state.
Addressing newsmen yesterday at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, Omobosola said her candidature is envisioned to make Oyo State the most progressive state in Africa in terms of economy, technology, innovation, research and development to add value to lives and the society.
She said that she wants to build the capacity of men and women to move beyond poverty by training them in skills, methods, knowledge and leadership needed to take self reliant actions so that they can meet their own basic needs, improve their communities and build better future for themselves and their children.
Adding that she will modernise all the state infrastructures, increase the minimum wage to living wage, computerise the Oyo State systems, reform the pension plan, create employment opportunities to citizens, introduce Oyo State Income and Sales Tax, create Oyo State policing to add value to the security of the state, create modern forensic science laboratories, reform agricultural sector and create Oyo State Motor Insurance for every vehicles in the state.
She therefore solicits supports from all the good people of Oyo State to bring this programmes to pass by voting her as the governor of Oyo State in the coming general election.
