Deputy speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Barr. Abdulwasi Musah has said that his loyalty to Governor Abiola Ajimobi as the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains intact.
He, however, insisted that the permanent secretary of the Oyo State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mrs Olawumi Ogunesan is the cause of the division within the fold of the ruling APC, especially in Saki West, where he represents.
Musah and communications minister, had accused Ogunesan of causing disunity within the party in the state.
According to the youthful lawmaker, “I don’t have issues with the governor. He is my leader. Since we were inaugurated, he has shown to us that he is capable of leading us. People should not misconstrue my statement; issues are clear. But if you ask anybody who is responsible for the alleged removal of the APC chairman in our council, they will not talk about anybody than Mrs Ogunesan.
“It is normal for people to express their displeasure over any issue they are not satisfied with. It behoves on those that were appointed to find a way of mending fences but rather, those who are against their nomination, were beaten by hired thugs. Is that good?
“And for your information, illegality has no place in the constitution of our party; only the state executive of our great party can remove the party chairman. While I pledge my unalloyed loyalty to Governor Abiola Ajimobi, something urgent must be done to rid the party of those who are bent on destroying the party we all laboured to sustain,” he said.
