The Alageere of Ago-Are, Oba Azeez Uthman Oyetunde Odunaye II, JP, has congratulated the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on the occasion of the state’s 50th anniversary, describing his administration as inclusive and people-oriented.
The monarch, in a statement on Wednesday to mark the golden jubilee, said the anniversary provided an opportunity to reflect on the journey of the state and the progress recorded in recent years.
According to him, “Oyo State at 50 is not just a celebration of longevity, but a celebration of resilience, unity and purposeful leadership. I congratulate Governor Seyi Makinde for his inclusive style of governance and his commitment to the development of all parts of the state.”
Oba Odunaye II commended the governor for prioritising grassroots development, noting that communities such as Ago-Are had benefited from policies and projects aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
He said, “The impact of this administration is evident at the grassroots level. From infrastructure to education and social welfare, the people are witnessing the dividends of good governance.”
The traditional ruler also lauded the peaceful atmosphere currently enjoyed in the state, attributing it to the consultative approach of the Makinde-led administration.
He further offered prayers for the governor, urging residents of the state to continue to support the government in its drive for sustainable development.
“I pray that Almighty God grants the governor continued wisdom, strength and good health to lead Oyo State to greater heights. I also call on the people of Oyo State to maintain peace and support the government for the overall progress of the state,” he added.
