“We know the main duty of your agency is to protect government infrastructures and resources, most especially pipeline and so far your agency has being performing because we do not experience fire outbreak from pipeline vandalism like other states.
“However, in terms of security, our peoples lives is more important to us than properties, and we want you to cooperate with us in every means possible.
“Without the security we can bring investment on board and our people can’t go about with their activities, that is why we want to know how we can work together and give legislative support towards achieving efficiency in all our duties,” he added.
Speaking on the issue of residents contributions to security, Ogundoyin appealed to NSCDC officers to engage communities and always keep informants’ identities secret to ensure continuous cooperation and support.
While addressing the lawmakers, the State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Dr. John Oyedokun Adewoye said it is the duty of the agency to protect all national infrastructures, resources and also the lives and properties of the Nigerians.
Recalling that Oyo State command has handled over 157 cases so far, Adewoye noted that the State pipeline is the most secured in Nigeria, as there has never being any case of vandalism or fire outbreak from the pipeline in the State.

“We have other areas where we work to protect people’s lives and their properties, and that is why we work hand in hand with other sister security agencies.
“We have intelligence officers, when you see them in your offices you think they are politicians, at the motor parks you think they are thugs.
“We also have our legal team, because we have the power to persecute. We are for you and we will always cooperate with you as law makers to ensure our people are not disappointed and we can also say you delivered on your mandate.”
