The Oyo House of Assembly Service Commission (OYHASC) has congratulated Rt Hon Adebo Ogundoyin over his emergence as the Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria.
The commission in a statement signed by its Chairman, Rt Hon Abdulwasi Musah on Saturday also commended Governor Seyi Makinde over his support for the legislative arm of government in the state.
The former Deputy Speaker also described Ogundoyin’s emergence as the right man for the job adding that his experience as a second-term Speaker will be helpful.
He congratulated the good people of Oyo state and Nigerians.
His words: “Let me use this medium to congratulate our speaker, Rt Hon Adebo Ogundoyin over his emergence as Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria.
“Your emergence is no doubt putting the right peg in the right role. With your experience as a second-term speaker, I have no doubt that you will perform excellently well, shaping our democracy for the betterment of our nation.
“Once again, congratulations to our amiable speaker!”
Recall that Ogundoyin who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP emerged at a national meeting of the Conference in Abuja following the withdrawal of the Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Taiwo Oluomo from the race.
The appointment of Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin was thereafter confirmed through a unanimous voice vote by the speakers in attendance at the Conference.
This was consequent upon the expiration of the two year tenure of the leadership of the Speaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon Abubakar Suleiman.
