The last may not have been heard about the inauguration of two rejected chairmanship nominees and replacement of another nominee with another on the inauguration day as caretaker committee chairmen of their respective local governments (LGs) and local council development areas (LCDAs).
Governor Abiola Ajimobi had last Friday inaugurated Taiwo Adeleke (Asabari LCDA) and Mudasiru Agbaje (Irepo LG) who were found ‘unappointable’ by the committee that screened them; and also ‘inaugurated’ Abiodun Oladeji, instead of Akeem Aransi who was screened by the committee, for Lagelu West LCDA.
The actions, Inside Oyo learnt, drew the ire of the public; the House was condemned and described as a rubber-stamp Assembly and the integrity was derided.
This, it was gathered made the Assembly to write the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Ismael Alli, Commissioner and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matter, Hon. Bimbo Kolade and Mrs. Olawumi Ogunesan respectively and others, for questioning by the Ethics Committee of the Oyo State House of Assembly.
After the trio and others might have been questioned, the Ethics Committee is expected to submit its report to the whole House on the 25th of April when the lawmakers reconvene.
