Oyo State House of Assembly lawmakers are currently undergoing a four -day retreat on three crucial bills before it.
According to a report by Radio Nigeria, the bills which included investment promotion agency bill 2019, anti corruption agency bill 2019 and open rearing and grazing regulation bill 2019 are to be treated by resources persons at the legislative retreat holding at ilaji hotel and resort centre ibadan
At the opening ceremony, Speaker of the House, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin, who said the open rearing and grazing regulation bill is intended to regulate the activities of herdsmen and farmers in the state to avoid clashes, explained that the assembly would embark on public hearing on the bill to chat the way forward.
Mr Ogundoyin expressed optimistic that information gathered at the retreat would help the assembly in its legislative duties.
Also reacting, Chairman House Committee on Works and Transport, member representing Ibadan North East Constituency 1, Mr Olamide Akinajo said the present administration in Oyo State is setting the pace with anti corruption agency bill which he said when passed into law wouldfight corruption in the state.
The four-day retreat which has its theme as ‘Enacting Laws on Economic Development, Promotion and Security, will host the Director, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Ibadan, State Director, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mrs Dolapo Dosunmu, a retired colonel, Adenike Akerele, clerk of the House, Ms Felicia Oyediran and other stakeholders resource persons.
It is expected to end on Saturday this week.
