A stalwart of the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mogaji Ojo Eweena, Oke Offa, Baba Sale, (Engr) Popoola Olukayode Joseph, popularly called POJ, paid an official visit to the Chairman, APC, Oyo State, Alhaji Olayide Abass, at his Oke Ado, Ibadan office on Thursday.
While receiving his guest, Alhaji Olayide stated that Mogaji Engr Popoola is a well-respected public servant who served with commitment and integrity. He explained that POJ’s leadership qualities and experience are essential for the party’s growth, especially during this period of rebuilding and reconciliation among members.
The Chairman charged POJ to join hands with the party leadership to promote collectiveness and shun individuality. He emphasized that individuals like POJ are crucial to the party’s success in Oyo State.
Earlier, POJ described the party chairman as a well-respected progressive leader chosen by God to reposition Oyo APC. POJ assured the chairman of his readiness and that of his supporters across Oyo State to work with party leaders, stakeholders, and members to achieve greatness.
POJ commended the APC-led federal government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts to reposition and redirect the nation towards prosperity. He called on Nigerians to support the President.
The meeting was also attended by the State Publicity Secretary, Hon Olawale Wasiu Sadare, and Mr Dayo Fatoki.
POJ, a grassroots politician, joined the party from Ward 10, Ibadan North East Local Government, and has been attending meetings. His membership has been greeted with enthusiasm and joy among leaders in the ward and local government.
Notable party chieftains who congratulated POJ on his membership include Mrs. Omolola Odekunbi, Alhaji Elewure, Chairman of APC in Ibadan North East, Prince Gbade Lana, and Chief Oloya.
POJ was accompanied to the party secretariat by Mr Adegbola Adesesan, former Chairman of Oyo State NNPP, Mr Adewuyi, former Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Dr Olufemi, and many others.
