The All Progressives Congress APC in Oyo state has said that voters in Ondo state deserve special recognition for justifying their rating as informed and progressive citizens in view of the massive support which they gave the APC and its candidate, Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa, in the last Saturday gubernatorial election.
Gov. Ayedatiwa was returned elected as the winner of the November 16 poll on Sunday by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC following his overwhelming victory against the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and other political parties which participated in the poll.
Oyo APC, in a statement issued on Monday and made available to journalists in Ibadan by its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, expressed its delight over the return of Gov. Ayedatiwa who is currently serving out the remaining days of the second term mandate jointly given to him and late Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu who died barely a year ago.
“The outcome of the Saturday poll which indicated a resounding electoral success for the APC is a testament to the fact that voters in Ondo state again demonstrated their rating as informed, discerning and committed citizens who are always ready to support growth and development as they defied all odds to hand victory to the APC once again. Ondo has always been a progressive state and with what the majority of the electorate did on Saturday to ensure incontrovertible victory for the APC, they have written their name in gold again.
“Undoubtedly, the fresh mandate would be enough to challenge Gov. Ayedatiwa to do more for the masses of Sunshine state who just acted to appreciate the enormous job he has been doing since he came into office. Also, we can assure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not take them for granted as they have shown firm believe in his ability to deliver on his Renewed Hope agenda despite the current socio-economic challenges facing the people.” Oyo APC added.
