The crisis lingering in the Oyo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) may soon be forgotten, following the agreement reached today by major stakeholders of the party today in Ibadan.
Recall that InsideOYO.com had earlier reported that elders of the Unity Forum, a breakaway faction of the ruling All Progressives Congress will meet the party chairman today in Ibadan following the uproars that greeted the state congress of the party purportedly stage managed by the wings believed to be that of Sen. Rashidi Ladoja and Chief Michael Koleosho.
It was gathered that all the blocs in the party after a series of critical deliberations, unanimously resolved to concede the chairmanship and other significant executive positions to the break away of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC codenamed Unity Forum.
The choice between Oyo Central and North senatorial zone was reported to be the main contest amongst the reconciled group as the Unity Forum is said to be favourable to Oyo Central.
Amongst resolutions reportedly made at the meeting were automatic tickets for the serving state and national assembly members who are majorly from the Unity Forum and Accord of former Governor Ladoja.
It was also learnt that direct primaries option was adopted for other elective positions while every aspirants across the five geopolitical zone is allowed to contest for the gubernatorial ticket of the party.
Meanwhile, the recent development was said would be a subject of harmonization against the wide expectation of the aggrieved group which are agitating for an outright cancellation of the controversial congress but it was affirmed that such an effort would take a lot time as the process for the next electioneering is fast drawing nearer.
