Members of the Unity Forum, a breakaway faction of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo state are set to join the former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s third force party, African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Insideoyo.com gathered that the Unity Forum has created a committee to negotiate with leaders of ADC on the plan to join the party. This was part of the resolution reached at a stakeholders’ meeting held in Ibadan on Monday which was well attended by notable elders of the party.
Present at the meeting were, Senator Monsurat Sumonu; Senator Soji Akanbi; Hon Sunday Adepoju, a member of the Federal House of Reps; Hon Musa Abdulwasiu, the Deputy Speaker of OYHA; Chief Abu Gbadamosi, Dr Busari Adebisi and other prominent elders of the forum from all the zones in the state.
A member of the negotiation committee who spoke on the condition of anonymity with insideoyo.com said the destination of the Unity Forum is ADC. There is no going back to APC.
“Yes, we met yesterday and we created a committee to meet and negotiate with the leaders of ADC, which is our likely destination.”
“The negotiation committee outcome will determine our next action but we are not going back to the APC.” He said.
Recall that insideoyo.com earlier reported that the Unity Forum announced its decision to leave the ruling All Progressives Congress. This was made known in a Facebook post by the Public Relations Officer of the faction, Mr Wasiu Sadare.
And that Unity Forum have headed to court over the inauguration of Chief Akin Oke as the State’s chairman.
