The gubernatorial candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, in the just concluded elections in Oyo state, Barr. Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli informed the people of Oyo State that the coalition government which will soon be championed by the Governor-elect, Engr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, will surely give a new dawn and a glorious one to the people of the state.
This is as he pleaded with Nigerians to imbibe the lessons of Easter, especially the spirit of concord and harmony, with a view to build a virile and rancour free society.
Barr. Alli, in his Easter message to the Christians, through his Media aide, Comrade Taiwo Ibrahim, said the season calls for a reflection as we move towards another political journey in the country, adding that Jesus Christ laid a good example of tolerance and perseverance as he was still pleading for his persecutors even when in severe pain on the cross.
Alli, who was among the strong pillars in the coalition to legitimately oust the incumbent government in Oyo state in the 2019 guber election, recalled that this spirit of putting the people in the front burner of political calculus, the spirit of sacrifice and selflessness, as demonstrated by all the major stakeholders which eventually paid off was needed to rescue the country from political usurpers.
The ZLP stalwart therefore urged that the nation needs this kind of spirit at this critical period when the security system has totally broken down and no one seems to be safe again in the hands of terrorists who seem to have taken over the seat of power and those claiming to be on seat look apparently powerless.
He used the occasion to appreciate all those who felicitated with him in the last few days on his birthday, those who called personally and many others who through the media expressed their love for him.
