News report has it that popular Ibadan-based broadcaster, Oriyomi Hamzat, who was arrested by men of the department of state security, (DSS) has been allegedly detained for over four days and has no access to his lawyer.
On July 1, 2018, Hamzat circulated the news of his office raid across social media without much details.
He was said to have been arrested on a petition by the Oyo State government.
Hamzat, who returned from Ghana the second day, visited the DSS office with his lawyer. He was later detained. His lawyer has been unable to see him since then.
A source closed to Hamzat told Oyo Insight that “he was picked up by the command due to some petitions against him, including complaints over his activities by the state government.”
After his suspension by the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, Hamzat floated an online radio Programme known as Agidigbo.
