Chairman of Oorelope Local Government, Mr. Akeem Adepoju Raheem, on Tuesday, described the death of a former Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dauda Titilola popularly known as Jawara, as a sad loss to the local government and the state.
Raheem, in a statement made available to newsmen, described the late former lawmaker as a great grassroots mobiliser and a thoughtful individual, who always sought the good of his people.
He commiserated with the entire families of the late politician and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oorelope Local Government, praying to God to grant him eternal rest.
He said: “Our dear leader, Alhaji (Hon.) Dauda Ademola Titilola, former Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, your death has again reminded us of the absolute powers of God and His words that death is inescapable.
“The Quran says: “Wherever you may be, death will overtake you, even if you should be within towers of lofty construction.” (4:78).
“But we celebrate you in death, knowing what a great man, political mobiliser and thoughtful individual you were.
“You played your part in the development of our local government and state, especially when you served as President of the Federation of Igboho Students Union (FISU) and Deputy Speaker.
“Rest in peace, Rt Hon. Jawara.”
