Armed thugs in the early hours of Sunday invaded Mokola police station and tried to set it on fire.
It was however gathered that youths in the area mobilised themselves and prevented the hoodlums from setting the station ablaze.
According to Newspeakonline, it was also learnt that a boy was hit by a stray bullet during the mayhem. It could not be established who fired the gunshot that killed the boy.
According to reports, the youths were able to secure the uniforms of the police officers who had fled the the station during the attack.
He was killed at the early hours of today by hoodlums who stormed the popular Mokola roundabout in Ibadan.

Men of Operation Burst later arrived to put the situation is under control.
Speaking on Splash 105.9FM on Sunday, the Director General of Operation Burst, Col. Oladipo Ajibola (Rtd), confirmed the incident but stressed that normalcy has been restored to Mokola and its surrounding areas.
When quizzed further by Isaac Brown on measures put in place to forestall attacks on health institutions, he said security has been beefed up at University College Hospital and other health institutions.
