The filling of the existing vacancies on the Iyalode arm of the Ibadan traditional institution by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Sen. Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II begins this Friday with the elevation of the former President of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Chief Mrs. Priscilla Kuye to the position of Ashipa Iyalode of Ibadanland.
In a statement made available to the Media by the Personal Assistant (Media) to the Olubadan, Oladele Ogunsola, the promotion exercise would be held at the Aliiwo ruling house in the ancient metropolis where all the members of Olubadan-in-Council are expected to be in attendance.
The statement further disclosed that former Head of Service (HoS) and guru of Local Government administration, Chief Mrs. Kudirat Iyabo Adeleke would become Ekerin Iyalode while a renown lace dealer at Bola Ige International Market (New Gbagi), Alhaja Wosilat Ekeolu becomes Ekarun Iyalode.
Former Commissioner in the state and a scholar of repute, Chief Prof. Mojisola Oyebola would be decorated as the new Abese Iyalode just as the former Oyo State First Lady, Chief Mrs Mutiat Olayinka Ladoja becomes Maye Iyalode and former Registrar of the University of Ibadan, Chief Mrs. Mojisola Ladipo moves to the position of Ekefa Iyalode.
The titles of Agbaakin Iyalode and Aare Alaasa Iyalode would respectively be dorn by Chief Mrs. Rashidatu Olanrewaju Otiti and the Olori of the immediate past Olubadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji Aje Ogungunniso 1, Chief Mrs. Rashidatu Asake Adetunji.
Iyalode arm is the women wing of the Ibadan Traditional system and the head of the arm who is also a member of the Ibadan Kingmakers is Iyalode of Ibadanland and the position is being currently held by Chief Mrs. Theresa Oladuntan Oyekanmi.
