Oba (Dr) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa1) has enjoined the new Chiefs installed on Monday to be good Ambassadors of Ibadanland any where they may be.
The call was contained in the press release issued and signed immediately after the installation of fourteen Mogajis and seven Baales at the Banquet Hall of Olubadan palace,Oke Aremo, Ibadan.
Speaking through the Balogun of Ibadanland Oba (Barr) Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola, Oba Ladoja said the era of traditional affluence had gone, adding that any installed traditional ruler must prepare to work assiduously for the unity, progress and development of Ibadanland.
According to the paramount ruler,”one of your traditional duties is to guarantee the security of life and property of the people in your domains and Ibadanland at large “.
I once again appealed to Oyo State Government and all Local Government Councils in the state to profile the foreigners in Oyo State with the hope of returning those with the questionable character to their states of origin or prosecute them under the law of the land.
“It is worrisome the alarming rate at which people are being kidnapped, terrorized, maimed and killed nowadays,I charge government at all levels, security operatives, traditional rulers and other security stakeholders to urgently tackle insecurity menace so that the law abiding citizens can move freely and go about their lawful duties without fear of molestation, intimidation and being kidnapped”, the paramount ruler admonished.
Arusa1 appealed to the Mogajis and Baales installed to abstain from aiding and abetting the land grabbers, be personally involved in land grabbing or prepared to forfeit their traditional titles and face the full wrath of law.
Responding on behalf of the new Chiefs, one of the newly installed Mogajis, Mogaji (Dr) Dada Olaniyi Aborisade of Talontan Awonjelogun Compound,Aremo, Ibadan assured Olubadan and his council the determination of the new Mogajis and Baales to serve Ibadanland to the best of their ability.
Mogaji Aborisade pledged that the new Chiefs will abide with the traditional rules and regulations of Ibadanland.
Other installed Mogajis are Agbolagade Adelakunof Laboto compound,Foko, Ibrahim Babatunde Jamilu Oke Ofa Atipe, Kazeem Isola, Gbenla, Basit Adio Oke – Senni, Olaolu Ogunsola – Anisere Agugu, Lawal Adelokun Itabale Ogboriefon, Akinpelu Oluwafemi Osun Ajiboro Aremo,Dauda Abimbola Badmus Isale – Osi, Ibadan.
Other new Mogajis are Oyelami Adesina One, Isiaka Agboluaje Oke Foko, Bojesomo Akande Oje area, Ademola Arijo Oopo Yiosa and Dauda Idowu Alao of Gbenla Aliiwo, Ibadan.
The seven Baales installed are Olutola David Oyedapo of Olanla village, Ezekiel Totoola Oladipupo Abanla village, Oyeladun Olusungbemi Sukuru village, Opeola Ramon Oleojegi village.
Other Baales are Amidu Olopade Mobileje Oguntedo village, Kehinde Akintola Agoro Ogbere Idi – Osan village and Muheedeen Morakinyo baale Gidi – Gidi village in Ibadanland.
Present at the install ation Ceremony were Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba (Sir) Eddy Oyewole OtunBalogun of Ibadanland Oba (Dr) Kolawole Adegbola, Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Abiodun Kola – Daisi, Ashipa Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Salawudeen Amidu Ajibade, Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin, representatives of Iyalode of Ibadanland and Olori (Barr) Rasidat Olayinka Ladoja.
