The Deputy Governor of Pace Setter State, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, as part of activities commemorating his 60th birthday, has donated food stuffs and households materials to the orphans.
Presenting the gift on behalf of the Deputy Governor, at the State Juvenile Correctional Institution/Child Care Centre Unit and Abandoned Children, Polytechnic Ibadan Road, Sango, Ibadan, the Protocol Officer, Mr. Ajibola Salako, said the gifts were presented by the Carreer Officers under the Deputy Governor in commemoration of his 60th birthday.
He noted that the act was in line with the Deputy Governor’s principles and his loved to give to the needy always, stressing that he is a philanthropist to the core.
Speaking further, he noted that, Engr. Olaniyan’s philosophy is ” I learned to give, not because I have plenty, but because I know how it feels to have nothing’, based on this, the carreer Officers, under the leadership of Principal Private Secretary to Deputy Governor, Mr Laide Raji, deemed it feet to contribute and donate to the orphans in commemoration of his 60th birthday.
He therefore urged members of the public to always remember the needy, no matter how little.
In his remarks, the Director, Social Welfare, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Mr Kolajo … who was represented by Mr. Taiwo Ibilade, thanked God for the life of the Deputy Governor, adding that the only acceptable way one can celebrate birthday is to remember the orphans and the needy. He therefore, wish Engr. Olaniyan long life and prosperity coupled with sound health on behalf the Honourable Commissioner and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion.
Earlier in her address, the Officer In charge, Juvenile Correctional Institution/Child Care Centre, Mrs. Bolanle Ayanniran, thanked Engr. Olaniyan for his love and philanthropic act, pledged the materials will be used for the children accordingly.
One of the beneficiaries who spoke on behalf of the Orphans, Miss. Raji Sukura, thanked his excellency for remembering them as part of his 60th birthday celebration.
The children latter prayed for the celebrant.
Materials given to the orphans were; bag of Rice, bag of Gari, toiletries, Indomine noodles, bag of detergent and other households materials.
Earlier in the Deputy Governor’s house, politicians across the state, families, Special Assistants to Deputy Governor and well wishers gathered together to offer prayers on to God on behalf of the celebrate for clocking 60th.
