A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State, Jimoh Adisa Olabisi, has resigned his membership from the party, citing persistent internal crisis, unresolved disagreements, and lack of unity within the party structure.
In a resignation letter dated May 1, 2026, and addressed to the Ward 10 Chairman of the PDP in Igboho, Oorelope Local Government, Olabisi said his decision to leave the party was taken after careful consideration of the situation within the party.
According to him, the continuous internal conflicts and inability of the party leadership to address critical issues affecting the growth and stability of the PDP had made it difficult for committed members to contribute meaningfully to the party’s progress.
He stated that the lingering disagreements and lack of cohesion within the party structure forced him to step aside in what he described as his best interest.
“This decision was not made lightly. However, after careful consideration of the lingering internal crisis, unresolved disagreements, and the persistent lack of unity within the party structure, I have come to the conclusion that it is in my best interest to step aside from the party,” the letter read in part.
Olabisi further appreciated party leaders, members, supporters, and stakeholders for the opportunities and support he enjoyed during his stay in the PDP.
He added that he remained grateful for the relationships and experiences built throughout his political journey in the party.
