The Board of Directors of Oduโ€™a Investment Company Limited(OICL) led by the Chairman, Engr Olusola Akinwumi, Group Managing Director/CEO, Odu’a, Mr Adewale Raji and management team paid a working visit to the on-going tomato farm at Imeko, Ogun State on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 to allow for full appreciation of the status of work on the farm and to obtain directorsโ€™ input in the project development.

Oduโ€™aย Directors while expressing their satisfaction on the project commended the Management team led by the Group Managing Director for a job well done and also appreciated the perseverance of the Technical Consultant, Engr Bamidele Okunaiya of Fidele Aggregation Limited in terms of his practical experience and determination to succeed.

The directors mentioned that the ongoing Tomato farm project would not have been made possible if not for the agility of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo who several years ago acquired the land for agriculture purposes.

The Chairman, Engr Akinwumi appreciated members of the Board for their decision to visit the farm for physical verification and to help in critical analysis and decision-making.

He expressed happiness that the on-going tomato farm development even at its current stage can be showcased to the South West States of Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, Osun, Ekiti and Lagos

The Group Managing Director, Mr Raji during the Odu’a team courtesy visit to the Palace of the Onimeko of Imeko, Oba Benjamin Oyediran Olanite, Eyi Ogboye, Akanku IV assured the Onimeko that OICLโ€™s ultimate goal is to establish processing plant for the raw materials from the farm into a paste and concentrate.

The Group Managing Director (GMD), Mr Adewale Raji had earlier stated the challenges of disruption of work last year by some elements in the community who were resisting being displaced from the land and the treatment of the land and seedlings at various stages through application of chemicals to ensure plant productivity which caused delays in meeting schedules and deadlines.

The Onimeko of Imeko, Oba Benjamin Oyediran Olanite expressed delight that Oduโ€™a has returned to do something that is enduring on the land.

On the visit were Oduโ€™a Chairman, Engr Olusola Akinwumi, Odu’a GMD, Mr Adewale Raji, Directors-Dr Mrs Adepeju Esan, Chief Segun Ojo and Chief Dele Okeya
Management Staff present were Mrs Yinka Tunji-Ojo, GM Finance & Investment, Dr Morakinyo Oloyede, Head Group Human Resources, Mrs Abiola Ajayi, Company Secretary/Head of Legal, Mr Segun Agbekeye, Group Head, Internal Control & Risk Compliance, Engr Soji Sangobiyi, Project Evaluation Manager, Mr Babajide Oyebola, Principal Assistant, Strategy & Sustainability,ย Mr Victor Ayetoro, Head, Corporate Affairs, Mrs Nike Ajobo, Public Relations Manager and Mr James Osasuwa, Strategy Officer.
