The Accord Party gubernatorial candidate in 2019 in Oyo State and Mogaji Tijaniyat of Yorubaland, Saheed Ajadi has described the demise of Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun as a great loss to the city and to the entire Yoruba race.
Ajadi made statement in his condolence message after the announcement of the death of Olubadan at the early hours of Thursday.
He described the late Olubadan as a traditional ruler that was dedicated to the service of his people and the lover of Ibadan.
Ajadi said: “The passing of His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Dr.) Lekan Balogun, is a great loss to the city of Ibadan, the entire Yoruba race, and indeed Nigeria.
“He was a traditional ruler who was dedicated to service, with a great love for his people and the development of the city of Ibadan.
“I mourn the loss of a great father who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
“I extend my deepest condolences to the people of Ibadan, the family of the late Oba, and all those who were touched by his life.
“I pray that the memory of Oba Balogun’s leadership, wisdom, and service will continue to inspire future generations.
“May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may his family and loved ones find strength and comfort during this time of grief.
“On behalf of the people of Ibadanland, I offer my deepest sympathies and prayers for peace and comfort.
“We will miss Oba Balogun’s presence, but his legacy will live on in the lives of all those he touched.
“May God bless the people of Ibadan and give them the strength to continue his good work in his absence.
