Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (SOLAN), has felicitated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso I, on the occasion of his 92nd birthday, on Wednesday, 26 August, 2020.
Lanlehin, former Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District from 2011 to 2015, and governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2019 polls, described Oba Adetunji as a great personality, excellent individual and leader’s leader, whose commitment to the development of Ibadanland, and the advancement of humanity in general, is worthy of emulation.
“Oba Adetunji, deserves whatever accolades and encomiums we pass on him, because whether in private or public conduct, he’s proven himself to be an enigma, whose ascension to the throne, and conduct ever since, has been truly regal, royal and fitting of the status of a first class Monarch”, Lanlehin noted.
Lanlehin, who recalled Oba Adetunji’s giant strides in entrepreneurship, evidenced in the commendable successes of many of his businesses, of which Omo Aje Records (now Babalaje Records), is a glittering example, urged aspiring businessmen and women, to take a cue from the business acumen of the Ibadan Monarch, with a view to learning the secrets of business growth and development, while still advancing corporate social responsibility and community growth, like Oba Adetunji has successfully done.
Lanlehin, who reminisced that Oba Adetunji, without a doubt, has seen his reign which commenced Friday, 4 March, 2016, live to his moniker, Aje Ogungunniso, as Ibadan has witnessed tremendous socioeconomic development, urged the revered Monarch to continue dedicating his life to the sustenance of peace, progress and prosperity, of not only Ibadanland, his domain, but that of Oyo State and Nigeria in general.
Senator Lanlehin (SOLAN), the Ekarun Baamofin of Ibadanland, congratulated Oba Adetunji, Ibadan’s 41st Olubadan, praying God Almighty to grant him long life and prosperity, to see him lead Ibadanland into greatness and further development as Nigeria’s pre-eminent city.
