Nomination for the maiden edition of the Prominent Oyo People’s Awards (POPA 2017) has opened as stakeholders, corporate bodies, political office holders, professionals, etc in the state have been advised to visit the website and make their nominations online.
In a press statement, the CEO Cornerstone Media International (CMI) Mr Ajibola Afolayan, advised the public to “visit POPA website to make their nominations for deserving individuals and organisations who have demonstrated and provided outstanding services and support to the state.”
Winners of the various categories of the awards organised by Cornerstone Media International, in collaboration with the Oyo State Government, will be honoured on the 9th of September, 2017. He also stated that nominations will close on July 10, 2017 to enable the awards panel draw conclusions on those to go home with the various categories.
Meanwhile, About 50 awards and recognitions will be presented at the ceremony from different fields of endeavors including special recognition awards.
Some of the awards up for grabs include: Award of Excellence in Good Governance, Award of Excellence in lecturing profession, award of Excellence in Planning Profession, award of Excellence in Medical Profession, Outstanding Law firm of the year, Bank of The Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Outstanding Journalist of the year, Outstanding TV Presenter of the Year, Telecommunication of the year, Supermarket of the year, Outstanding HLGA of the Year, Outstanding Permanent Secretary, Most Active Ministry of the Year, Commissioner of the Year, Best Radio Station of the Year, Best Private Transport Company of the Year, ETC.
According to Segilola Fikayomi, CMI Director of Strategies and Planning, “The Oscar of Oyo State will roll the red carpet to celebrate and honour the most outstanding and deserving individuals/organisations who have contributed immensely to the growth and development of the state”.
Prominent Oyo People’s Award (POPA) would be organised by Cornerstone Media International with the endorsement of Oyo State Government.
