The very enterprising ,explosive and brilliant performances of Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso could not save the team from the defeat by Delta Force Football Club in one of the Week 9 Group B2 Fixtures of the Bet9ja Nigeria National League on Wednesday 12th September,2018 at the Jay Jay Okocha Stadium in Ugwashi-Ukwu , Delta State.

Tobi Adeyi held the midfield very perfectly in the first twenty five minutes (25mins) while Muazu Taiwo’s telegraphic passes to Moses Ajiboye,Daddy Yusuf and Olanrewaju Oladimeji posed a lot of threat to the Okowa Boys.

The Arsenal style of play and good coordination by Ezeali Kingsley,Ijioma Maxwell,Ozor Phillip and Ebuka Nnaji nearly gave the Okowa Boys an opener in the thirty third(33rd) minutes but Ugo Anozie was good enough to dislodge Ezeali Kingsley from shooting in the eighteen yards box.

Ugo Anozie, marshalling the defense for the Oyakale led boys was booked for an attack on Okemiri Ikechukwu in the thirty sixth (36th) minute.

The first goal of the highly explosive encounter came in the thirty seventh (37th) minute when Edogue Kenneth gave a pass to Eze Pascal who located Ezeali Kingsley via a grounded cross. He hurriedly placed the ball to a far impossible angle out of the reach of Adeniyi Adejare.

It was a moment of confusion for the officials. The centre referee,Mr Sunday Onyinoma from Abia State delayed in blowing the whistle waiting for the assistant referee 1 Nwaoba Celestine also from Abia State to signal offside but he held his flag down and stood at a spot. For almost ten seconds the centre referee was in a state of dilemma as the players continued shouting offside.

The Ajilete Warriors ran to meet their head coach, Oyekale Oladunni when the referees finally blew the ball as a goal but the head coach instructed his lads to continue the game after few seconds of pep talks with them

Chidiebere O was substituted for Yomi Olaoke in the thirty nineth (39th) minutes due to an injury he sustained from an attack on him by Ugo Anozie.

Muazu Taiwo was cautioned in the forty fourth (44th) minute for an attack on Ijioma Maxwell.

The first half ended one nil in favour of the homers.

The Oyekale led boys were more fierce on resumption into the second half with Tobi Adeyi,Muazu Taiwo and Daddy Yusuf gaining more possession of the ball.

The perfect substitutions of Ajibola Adeleke and Ajiboye Moses for Chibuike Nwankwo and Obinna Christopher in the fifty fifth (55th) and fifty eighth (58th) minutes brought more life into the game for the Ajilete Warriors thereby posing very dangerous threats on the homers.

Ezeali Kingsley was yellow carded in the sixty first (61st) minute when he intentionally kicked Chibuike Nwankwo from behind.

Adeniyi Adejare calculatively moved out to save a dangerous one on one situation with Ozor Phillip in the sixty fifth (65th) via a lob from Ebuka Nnaji. Both players collided but the centre referee awarded a penalty for the Okowa boys.

Kazie Eyinnaya spotting jersey number two(2) for Delta Force FC scored from the spot kick to make it two zero 2:0 in their favour.

Delta Force FC made their last two (2) substitutions in the sixty eighth (68th) and eightieth (80th) minutes: Egbo Osita and Edozue Kenneth came out for Williams Delima and Ufuoma Ajanikoko.

The Ajilete Warriors kept pressurizing the homers ;though their moves where intentionally stopped by the centre referee but this did not lower their morale.

Tobi Adeyi in the eightieth minute (80th) left footed a ballistic twenty eighth metres (28th) shot that gave Crown FC the only goal in the encounter from an assist by Daddy Yusuf after a pass from Chibuike Nwankwo from a throw in by Tayo Johnson.

Delta Force FC ,apprehensive of the threat, deadly passes and zeal to equaliser by Crown FC began to delay the game until the game was brought to an end.

Crown FC will travel to the city of Warri on Sunday 16th September, 2018 to tackle Abia Warriors at the Warri Township Stadium by 4pm in the Round of 32 of the 2018 Aiteo(Federation) Cup.
