The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has suspended the nationwide strike over minimum wage.
This announcement was made on Sunday by the NLC President Ayuba Wabba.
He said the strike is being called off as a result of the firm and formal assurance of the Federal Government to reconvene the tripartite committee on the new minimum wage.
The strike has grounded activities at federal secretariat in Ibadan and other environs in Oyo state.
The suspension means workers are expected to resume duties on Tuesday as Monday has been declared a public holiday by the federal government to mark the October 1 Independence Day.
The workers are demanding a new minimum wage of about N50,000 instead of the current national minimum wage of N18,000.
