Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (SOLAN) has felicitated with Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, on the occasion of her 60th birthday, today Tuesday, 9 April, 2019.
Lanlehin, Oyo State ADC leader, thanked Almighty Allah, for sparing the life of the Oyo Central Senator, and for His continuous hand in her highly promising political career.
In a statement made available to InsideOyo.com by ‘Damola Adeoye, Media Assistant to Senator Lanlehin, he described Sunmonu, Chairman, Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, as a Godfearing, committed and dedicated politician, one whose virtues of loyalty and honesty has seen her rise from being the very first female Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, particularly at a time when she was even the only female member in the House, as well as being the only female Senator so far in the history of Oyo State, Lanlehin called on the Oyo Alaafin-born politician to remain true to those sterling virtues which has promoted her thus far.
Calling on more women to participate in politics as the polity needs their unequalled passion for service, he as well encourages them to emulate Senator Sunmonu, who has been a reputable advert of what principled, purposeful and passionate political participation by women can achieve.
Senator Lanlehin encourages the diamond jubilee celebrant to always lean on God for direction and drive, and to keep forging ahead in her dedication to the progressive brand of politics, no matter the prevailing political climate.
