Five National Assembly members of the break away All Progressives Congress, APC widely called Unity Forum on Thursday picked up the expression and nomination forms of the African Democratic Congress, (ADC) to re-contest in the coming 2019 general elections in Oyo state .
The senator representing Oyo Central senatorial district, Monsura Sunmonu led quartet of Sunday Adepoju, Sunbo Olugbemi, Abiodun Olasupo and Taiwo Akintola all of the house of representatives to Abuja, national secretariat of the party to obtain the forms.
Senator Sunmonu dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, some weeks ago, after fallout with Governor Abiola Ajimobi in the state.
The former Oyo Speaker said she will make a list of all her achievements since joining the upper chamber in 2015.
“Earlier today I obtained an ADC nomination form and put myself forward to contest the 2019 election to represent Oyo Central Senatorial District.”
“Over the coming weeks I shall showcase some achievements since becoming your Senator in 2015.”
Olasupo who had earlier said that members of his unity forum in the Oyo state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) were forced to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is chairman of the House of Representatives committee on legislative compliance.
He made this known at Iwere-Ile in Iwajowa local government area of the state town hall meetings with constituents.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Olasupo, alongside other members of the unity forum, a splinter group of the APC in the state, recently defected to ADC.
