The Palace of the monarch, Asigangan of Igangan, Oba Lasisi Adeoye and filling station were burnt.

Insideoyo.com recalls that a popular activist, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, had earlier stormed Igangan to fulfill his promise to chase the Fulanis out of Ibarapa land.

Sunday Igboho had, on January 15, stormed the Fulani settlements in Igangan with an instruction that the entire Fulanis in the community should leave the area within seven days, having been fingered in the series of abductions, killings, and other criminal activities in the area.

Meanwhile, the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Debo Ogundoyin condemned the fresh attack on Igangan, by bandits and suspected criminal herders overnight.

He said in a post made available to insideoyo.com on Sunday, “Early this morning I received distressed calls of fresh attack on our people in Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government by bandits and suspected criminal herders in which about 5 residents were allegedly killed, some injured and properties burnt”.

Ogundoyin condoled with families who lost their loved ones and properties in the recent attack.

He also appreciated security personnel, Vigilantes, Amotekun corps and local hunters who rose to combat the bandits in the middle of the night.

“I condemned this unfortunate attack and sympathy with the families who lost their loved ones and properties. I also appreciate the security personnel, vigilantes, Amotekun corps, our local hunters and brave men that rose in the middle of the night to combat the bandits and safe lives of our people”.

“These murderers are not tired and It is our collective responsibility to protect our lives, women, children and our communities from these evil doers”, he wrote.

Ogundoyin also called for an urgent security meeting with all security stakeholders within Ibarapa community.
