A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state, Alhaji Tiamiyu Abidikugu has congratulated the governor of the state, Engr Seyi Makinde over his re-election as the governor of the state for the second term.
He also extended the congratulatory message to the leadership of the party in the state, the deputy national chairman of party, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, the state chairman, secretary, other executives and members of the PDP across the state.
Alhaji Abidikugu, who happens to be a party leader from Ibadan South East Local Government, where the deputy national chairman comes from described Governor Makinde’s re-election victory as a landslide, noted that the people of Oyo have reposed their trust and confidence in Governor Makinde because they could see his heart, full of love and concern for their wellbeing.
The party leader, who also felicitated with the members of State of Assembly both the returnees and first timers maintained that their victories was as a result teamwork by members and leaders of the party in the state.
Alhaji Abidikugu noted that Governor Makinde’s victory was a lesson for all that everyone matters in politics, particularly the masses.
According to him, “This victory is as a result of the sagacity, hardwork, teamwork, skillful campaigns, efficient resource allocation, openness and humility exhibited by the governor and his team players.
“Governor Makinde concentrated on issues that mattered most to Oyo people and they responded in kind, bestowing on him and the PDP an earth-shaking victory of historic proportions, which also confirms the famous dictum that the voice of the people is the voice of God.
“I want to also congratulate all the party leaders in the state starting from the deputy national chairman, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, the state party chairman and secretary, and all other party executives. I want to also commend the courage of the party members and the masses who stand with good governance by voted en masse for the re-election of governor of the masses.
“I congratulated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the security agencies, election observers and monitors, the media and the people of Oyo, who not only voted but ensured that their votes count”.
