Oyo state House of Assembly will, on Friday (today), re-screen the rejected Caretaker Chairman for Ogbomoso South local government, Mr Oyeniyi Oyedokun for appointment.
The re-screening is consequent upon a letter by Governor Seyi Makinde addressed to the Assembly, and read at Thursday’s plenary, that Oyedokun be re-screened.
Reasons for the governor’s decision not yet known.
InsideOyo.com had reported on Wednesday how protesters against Oyedokun’s candidature led by leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Ogbomoso South stormed the state’s Secretariat, Ibadan, on Tuesday.
The protesters had alleged that Oyeniyi was an imposition on them by some powers that be, was a new entrant into the PDP, and did not contribute meaningfully to the party’s success in the last election.
Other nominees have since been screened and confirmed by the State assembly.
Sources told insideoyo.com that they will be sworn in by the governor next week.
