The abandoned Modeke dam project in Igboho, Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State to generate water for Igboho community and environs since thirty- one year ago will be resuscitated.
Governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State, Mr Seyi Makinde stated this at the palace of Onigboho of Igboho when the PDP campaign train paid homage to the monarch, Oba John Bolarinwa .
Mr Makinde said the dam if properly tapped, its potential would be source of employment for the youths and provide portable water for the residents of the community.
The PDP governorship candidate therefore promised to revive the dam project if elected and develop other infrastructural facilities to bring succour to the people of the area and the entire Oke-Ogun zone in the state.
Responding, Onigboho of Onigboho, Oba John Bolarinwa who spoke through Arusa of Igboholand, Chief Job Arusa prayed for the PDP team and implored the party not to renege on its electioneering promises.
The Modeke dam was inaugurated in 1988 during the military era of General Ibrahim Gbadamosi Babangida under the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development, a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources.
The PDP campaign train later moved to Saki East Local Government where the governorship candidate addressed rallies in Sepeteri, Ago-Amodu, Oje-Owode, Ogboro and Agbonle.
