Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has said he will make a copy of his declaration form public available.
Insideoyo.com gathered that the governor stated this after picking a copy of the asset declaration form at the Code Of Conduct Bureau on Monday.
Governor Makinde also encouraged principal officers of his administration to publicly declare their assets too.
“As promised during the governorship campaigns, I will publicly declare my assets to show my commitment to running an open and transparent government.
“I picked up a copy of my assets declaration form from the Code of Conduct Bureau today, which will be made available to the media.”
He says whilst the Nigerian Constitution 1999 (as amended), does not make publication of assets of declaration compulsory, “I will encourage principal officers of our administration to publicly declare their assets too,” he said in a series of tweets seen by InsideOyo.com.
