The Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde on Wednesday inaugurated a five-man committee from Oyo state to meet with the committee from Osun state to find a lasting solution to the crisis rocking the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (Lautech) Ogbomoso.
Members of the committee are Prof Ayodeji Omole (Chairman), Oloye Jumoke Akinjide, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN), Prof Oyelowo Oyewo and Prof Daud Sangodoyin.
This was made known in a tweet on the official twitter account of the governor.
The tweet read “This morning, we inaugurated a 5-person Committee; Prof Ayodeji Omole (Chairman), Oloye @jumokeakinjide, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN), Prof Oyelowo Oyewo, & @ProfDKSH to look into the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH) ownership and other related issues.
“The Committee’s mandate is to, in a manner of speaking, secure a divorce for Oyo State from joint ownership of the university with Osun State. I thanked them for accepting to serve and urged them to put their hearts into this work and submit a preliminary report in four weeks.”
Recall that insideoyo.com had earlier reported that the two states governors, Gboyega Oyetola and Seyi Makinde recently met in Abuja towards finding a solution to the school crisis and agreed to set up a ten-man committee which 5 members will come from each state.
The task of the committee is to find a lasting solution to the crisis rocking the institution.
Recently, the Osun state governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola inaugurated a 5-man panel to chart a way forward for the operations of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso.
The committee members for Osun state government are the deputy governor, Mr Benedict Alabi; a renowned Professor of Vocational and Technical, Education, Professor Olu Aina; Commissioner for Education, Mr Olayinka Folorunso, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Femi Akande and Commissioner for Finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji.
Lautech, a school jointly own by Oyo and Osun states is facing crisis over the negligence of the states in financing the school. This crisis had made the school be shut down for long on numerous occasions.
