Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has approved the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee of the Park Management System (PMS), led by Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi, aka Auxiliary.
The reappointed Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, May 29, 2023.
The dissolution is with immediate effect.
The statement read: “I have the directive of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde to inform you of the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System with immediate effect from today, Monday, 29th May, 2023,” Ogunwuyi said.
Recall that on Monday, February 17, 2020 Governor Seyi Makinde inaugurated park managers for the 33 local governments across the state with two disciplinary committees to intervene whenever conflicts arise with the naming of a factional NURTW leader in the state, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi as chairman of PMS disciplinary committee.
The then Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Adeniyi Afonja said that the PMS would bring sanity in the management of motor parks.
He also said the managers would be coordinated by a consultant to ensure compliance with the terms of reference, while the disciplinary committees would intervene where there are issues between the state government and park managers.
