The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Senatorial Candidate for Oyo North Senatorial District, Hon Akinwale Solomon Akinwole has said Governor Seyi Makinde did not pronounce or declare support for the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Wolekanle as he is foundly called, said the misinformation is a ploy by the opposition to confuse the electorate who are already determined to vote massively for PDP.
He made this known in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday.
His words: “I have met with the governor and at no point did he declared support for the presidential candidate of other party, not even on ethnicity or regional sentiment.
“Governor Makinde has consistently been telling his supporters and people of Oyo state that the interest of the PDP is paramount to him and he would ensure that PDP win Oyo state at both National and State election and he is working towards that.”
He added that very soon the governor will address party stakeholders on his position and allay their fears of PDP losing Oyo state.
While cautioning the aggrieved PDP members who are conniving with opposition to fan embers of division among party members, the Ogbomoso-born party chieftain expressed optimism that PDP will win all electoral seats in the 2023 election.
