Governor Seyi Makinde has given an award of merit to the Chairman of the Oyo state Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (OYRUWASSA), Engineer Najeem Omirinde over his performance.
The award was given on Thursday night at the Oyo State 2022 Governance Retreat themed ‘From Poverty to Prosperity – Our Covenant’.
It was gathered that Omirinde was honored alongside other political appointees.
Makinde said the retreat was an opportunity to evaluate the governance policies being executed by the Seyi Makinde-led administration.
His words: “Yesterday evening, we commenced the Oyo State 2022 Governance Retreat themed ‘From Poverty to Prosperity – Our Covenant’. We were honoured to have His Excellency, @GovSamuelOrtom as the keynote speaker at the event.
“The 2-Day retreat is an opportunity to evaluate the governance policies being executed by our administration to enable us make informed decisions about any adjustments we need to make as we strive to serve the good people of Oyo State better.”
While speaking on the award, Omirinde thanked Governor Seyi Makinde for the opportunity given to him to serve in that capacity.
He said the award is in recognition of his good work at the OYRUWASSA and a call to do more for the betterment of the nation and the people of Oyo state.
Meanwhile, some of the notable activities and achievement of Omirinde since he became OYRUWASSA Chairman included Purchase of India Rig and latest Geophysical survey equipment, bringing back of UNICEF to Oyo State after 7 years they have left, provision of boreholes to rural areas, provision of over 40 solar powered Boreholes in various LGA.
Also the Review and Launching of Open Defication Free (ODF) Road Map for Oyo state, rehabilitation of 12 solar powered Boreholes, rehabilitation of 20 Hand pump Boreholes in Ona-ara and Egbeda LGAs, many others interventions in the area of WASH, Cholera etc.
