Four days after the imposition of Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s loyalists as All Progressives Congress, APC, candidates for the May 12, 2018 council election, aggrieved members of the parted have started submitting petitions to the party’s Oke-Ado, Ibadan secretariat.
According to one of the petitions, a copy of which was made available to insideoyo.com from Kisi, headquarters of Irepo local government area, they said they followed the directives of the governor by choosing their chairmanship and councillorship candidates through consensus.
They said they were, however, shocked when another names were announced at the Lafia’s meeting.
Appealing to the governor to reverse the decision, they explained that all the ten wards in the council area chose former chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Yekini Popoola and not Asifu Adediran who was forced on them as chairmanship candidates.
