Member representing the Ibadan North East/South East Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Abass Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, has assuredly stated that all the candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the local government election coming up on Saturday will secure victory.
Agboworin, who is also the Chairman of House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, stated this on Wednesday, while speaking at the grand finale of the party’s state-wide campaign, which held at the Mapo Hall, Ibadan.
He expressed confidence that the party’s unprecedented achievements in the state, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, will also contribute massively to the victory for all the candidates participating in the electoral exercise.
Speaking further, he called on the party members to unite themselves and work together so as to ensure total victory for all the candidates.
“Yes, I am very sure that all our candidates will win. This is what we all know. Look at what the PDP as a party has done across the state through my Principal, Governor Seyi Makinde.
“Look at all the achievements in the last four years. The people who want to vote have witnessed all of these and that is why I wont bother to talk too much here. These are testament to the fact that our party candidates will retain all the positions and we will all celebrate after the exercise,” Agboworin stated.
Agboworin had, on Tuesday, mobilized support for all the candidates of the party through a meeting with the market leadership in his constituency, immediately he arrived in Ibadan from Abuja.
On his arrival, he first proceeded to the residence of the Babaloja-General of Oyo State, Alhaji Y.K Abass, to meet with the market leaders.
Agboworin, owing to his passion for the growth and progress of the party, vehemently appealed to the leadership to return to their various markets and instruct other traders to ensure they come out in their large numbers and vote for all the PDP candidates on Saturday.
He assured them that, by so doing, the unprecedented achievements of Governor Seyi Makinde across the state will be sustained, adding that their labour would not be in vain, and would be duly rewarded at the appropriate time.
Agboworin had said: “My mothers and fathers, I appreciate our coming here this afternoon. And let me repeat it here that I need your support for our candidates in the PDP on Saturday. We are all aware that we will be voting that day.
“Please, I want you all to go back to your markets and instruct other traders to come out and get themselves involved in exercising their civic responsibility. Tell them it is compulsory for them to come out and vote for our candidates. Don’t just sit down at home. The PDP, as a party, is so much dear to me because without PDP, there cannot be Agboworin.
“In the 12 wards we have in South East and another 12 wards in North East, let us come out on that day and vote for the candidates of the PDP and I am sure that your efforts will not be in vain.”
