The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in ward 4 of Ibadan South East local government has said that Usman Oloko is the councillorship candidate of the party.
This was just as the party ward chairman, Mr. Tunde Anisere said he was forced to announced another person.
They were reacting to statement that a popular Ibadan Mogaji, Alhaji Abass Oloko was forcing his son, who is the incumbent on the party.
According to the duo of Anisere and Jimoh Adekunle Saheed, the party’s publicity secretary in the council area, apart from the fact Oloko has performed as councilor, his father is a great supporter and financier of the party in the ward and local government.
Saying that all stakeholders in the ward have resolved to back Oloko for a second term, Anisere explained that they have forwarded his name to the party.
”Hon. Usman Oloko has been endorsed by majority of us. He is the incumbent and he isn’t tired. Apart from him, his party is a known supporter of our leader Engr. Seyi Makinde. And overtime, he has been there for us in this PDP. So Hon. Oloko is someone known to us,” Jimoh added.
This was just as the duo urged those party members to continue mobilizing for the party ahead of the election, adding that the party has a way of rewarding loyal
party members.
“It is a cheap lie to say Alhaji Abass Oloko didn’t work for the re-election of Engr. Seyi Makinde. Even those who aren’t from this state know where he belongs and how he carries the governor’s matter. What he has done for the PDP, the last time he did that was when late Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu was leader of the party. So no one should lie to score cheap political point.”
