Leaders and stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Saki West local government area have endorsed the Vice Chairman of the local government, Mr Gbenga Akinola for the chairmanship seat in the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
The leaders also endorsed 10 serving councilors for another term in office among the 11 Councilors in the local government. The Councilor representing Ward 9, Mr Fasasi Quadri Amao was excluded from the endorsement due to his poor performance.
These were made known in a communique issued at the end of their meeting on Tuesday, in Saki which was signed by Engineer Hammed Gbadamosi, a former Deputy Governor of Oyo state and the chairman of the forum.
Gbenga Akinola is the Sole Administrator of Wewe Local Council Development Area.
According to the communique, the leaders were dissatisfied with the conduct and manner in which the chairman of the local government, Engineer Sarafadeen Omirinde has been running the affairs of the local government.
They also frowned at the level of corruption, abuse of office and mismanagement of funds in the local government by Engineer Sarafadeen Omirinde.
They commended the 10 councillors for their conduct and for standing against corrupt practices while urging them to continue their roles.
Some of the leaders at the meeting were Engr. Hammed Gbadamosi, Alhaji Nasiru Salami (NASCOTECH), Alhaji Dauda Alaraje, Deacon Olujimi, Alhaji Lateef Koomi, Engr. Omirinde Najeem and Chief Isaac Koleoso
Others included Eng. Mudasiru Eruobodo, Alhaji Olumota, Barr. Onijo Sarafadeen, Alhaji Raheem Muslim, Alhaji Ganiyu Alaka amongst others.
