As the race for the 2024 Council polls gathers momentum in Oyo State, stakeholders, leaders and elders of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ibadan North East local government on Thursday endorsed the incumbent Chairman, Hon Ibrahim Akintayo to seek re-election in the coming Council polls.
The stakeholders during their meeting on Thursday in Ibadan, voted 13 to 1 to affirm the endorsement of Honourable Akintayo.
Some of the stakeholders who witnessed the peaceful process that saw the incumbent winning the party ticket for another term include: a former Commissioner & Director General Seyi Makinde Campaign Organisation, Chief Bayo Lawal; Hon. Akeem Oladeji (Party Leader); Alhaji Akeem Azeez (P.A Governor Seyi Makinde); Hon Biodun Babalola (HOA Const. 1) and Hon Akinajo (For HOA Const. 1).
Others are: Hon Sola Owolabi (HOA const.2); Mrs. Funmilayo Arulogin (former S.A diaspora); Alhaji Isiaka Fatokun Abuye (Party Chairman), Mogaji Wale Ladoja (Party Leader); Hon AdeyAdeyanju (former S.A); Captain Peter Adebayo (former Council Chairman); Engr. Akin Akinleye (Party Leader); Hon Gbenga Adewusi (former Council Chairman) and Leader Remi Yusuf (Party Leader).
However, the stakeholders agreed that the voting on the councillorship aspirants to endorse as candidates should be postponed till Friday July 14th 2023.
The LGA Party Chairman, Hon Isiaka Fatokun commended all the stakeholders for the peaceful conduct of the process while also congratulate the party candidate on wining the ticket.
He assured the councillorship aspirants to alao exhibit same peaceful conduct while await those who will win the party tickets.
