“ We quite appreciate your partnership in the last election, certain achievements were achieved with your support.

“ We await your proposal to see where you can assist the commission and modalities involved.

“ Candidates of political parties have submitted their forms, and I am glad that there is no boycott this time around. Screening of candidates will begin on Monday, 30th October to 10th November 2023. Your people can witness and give an appreciable report.

“ Our goal is to satisfy citizens of the state and not a group or individual. We are assuring the people of the state of a free, fair, transparent and credible election”
Earlier in her remarks, The Director, National Orientation Agency, Oyo State, Dr. Olukemi Afolayan, said the purpose of the visit was to seek support and partnership with OYSIEC in a bid to change the mindset of the populace on local government elections through continued orientation, sensitization, and mobilization of residents for the next local government council elections.

The former head of programmes of the agency hinted that her team had commenced a different campaign on behalf of the commission to have a successful election by 2024.

She noted that the local government remains the most important arm of government globally, adding that citizens should begin to participate in local government council elections.

The event witnessed special prayers for OYSIEC to have a successful poll, NOA new boss and her team as well as presentation of gifts by the National Orientation Agency.
