Lalupon King Says Oyo Chief Whip Is Innocent, A Peaceful Man That Cannot Kill His Friend, Olatoye

The traditional ruler of Lalupon in Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State, Oba Muniru Adekunle on Wednesday said the Oyo state House of Assembly Chief whip, Hon. Olafisoye Akinmoyede, is an innocent man and cannot have killed his friend, late Olatoye Sugar.

The Lalupon monarch urged the Oyo state Police Command to further intensify their efforts to find the real killers of the member of the House of Representatives representing Lagelu/Akinyele Federal constituency, late Honourable Temitope Olatoye and bring them to book.

Oba Adekunle gave the charge in Ibadan while speaking with newsmen on the killing of late Honourable Temitope Olatoye on March 9, by the yet to be identified gunmen at Lalupon.

The traditional ruler lauded  the police for the job they have done so far concerning the killing of the House of Representatives member, adding that there is still the need for the police  to further intensify their efforts to find the real killers of the late lawmaker

Commiserating with the family of Olatoye over the untimely death of Honourable Temitope Olatoye, which described as unfortunate and disheartening, Oba Adekunle maintained  that the late Honourable Temitope Olatoye  would be solely missed for being a good ambassador of his constituents and for his unprecedented philanthropy which had endeared him to his people.

On the arrest and continued detention of the  Chief Whip of the Oyo state House of Assembly, Honourable Olafisoye Akinmoyede, over the killing of late  Honourable Temitope Olatoye. Oba Adekunle described the arrested Oyo House of Assembly Chief whip as a man of peace, who  had contributed immensely to the development of Lalupon town and the entire local government area through his philanthropic activities.

Emphasizing  that both Honourable Akinmoyede and the late Honourable Olatoye belonged to different political parties, he stressed that both of them are “brothers and best of friends”, saying they had jointly and individually committed enormous resources to the socio-economic wellbeing of the people of the area.

“I have always known Sugar and Akinmoyede as not only brothers but also best of friends. It is therefore inconceivable that one would want to terminate the other’s life, for whatever reason. As the traditional ruler of Lalupon town where Akinmoyede hails from, I know him to be a man of peace; he does not encourage thuggery and violence. I’m sure he didn’t know anything about the incident,” he said.

Oba Adekunle pointed out that the fact that the Oyo state House of Assembly Chief whip  voluntarily responded to the police invitation by walking to the SCIB, Iyaganku in Ibadan as well as the testimonies of most of his subjects on Akinmoyede’s characters were enough evidence that he was innocent.
