Loyalists of former Oyo State governor, Senator Rashidi Ladoja drawn from the 11 local governments of Ibadan have reiterated their support for Senator Olufemi Lanlehin as the Oyo ADC gubernatorial candidate, insisting also, that they remain members of the Oyo ADC.
This was the highpoint of a meeting held by bigwigs in the Ladoja political family in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Thursday.
The meeting which was moderated by Asiwaju Yemi Aderibigbe, ADC House of Representatives candidate, Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, was attended by core loyalists of Senator Ladoja.
While attendees averred that Senator Ladoja remains their leader, they also added that they have elected to continue plying their political trade in the Oyo ADC, and are ready to work for the party’s success in the 2019 polls.
Speaker upon speaker recalled Senator Ladoja had presented Senator Lanlehin to them as his preferred candidate, and that being loyalists of the Osi Olubadan, they stand by that pronouncement, and are willing, able and ready to massively support Lanlehin’s governorship bid.
Their three point communique reads in parts thus; “we, the Ibadanland Ladoja Political Group resolve as follows:
1. That the Ladoja Political Group meeting had in attendance 97% of Ladoja political family including all the serving State House of Assembly members and ADC candidates for 2019 elections, while the group will continuously recognize and respect the leadership of Sen Rashidi Ladoja;
2. We remain committed to the African Democratic Congress (ADC);
3. We affirm our unalloyed support for the governorship candidature of Sen Solagbade Olufemi Lanlehin (SOLAN) and all candidates under the banner of African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The communique was signed by Chief Solomon Ayansina and Hon Olusoji Oladejo Success, Chairman and Secretary of the Group, respectively.
In attendance were over 200 prominent members of the Ladoja political family among whom were Chief Solomon Ayansina, Chief Laide Lanihun, Pa Laditi, Hon Nureni Adisa, Hon Tayo Oyetunji and Hon Babatunde Olaniyan (Akoro)
Others included Hon Abiola Ladoja, Alh Wasiu Emiola, Engr Akeem Olatunji, Hon Segun Oyewole, Professor Fajembola and Hon Nurudeen Akanni.
Also present were Chief Mrs Yetunde Ajibola, Hon Asimiyu Ado, Hon Soji Oladejo Success and all serving House of Assembly and House of Representatives members and candidates from the Ladoja Camp.
